SAR Volunteer Application

In order to apply for Sanpete County Search and Rescue you must:


  • Be a citizen of the United States of America.
  • Be a resident of Sanpete County, Utah.
  • Be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • Have no prior criminal convictions or record of habitual traffic violations.
  • Have and maintain a current Utah State driver’s license, proof of vehicle liability and no-fault insurance, and registration on your primary vehicle used for search and rescue activities.

Applicants must complete a valid application, answering all questions and providing all requested notarized background authorization forms. Required documents include:

  • Proof of training and certifications
  • Utah driver’s license
  • Vehicle insurance
  • Other documents needed to establish compliance with these by- laws.

Completed applications should be sent to the Search and Rescue Liaison.

*Other requirements include 66% attendance to all SAR activities your first year. You must also own a 4×4 vehicle for SAR functions and purchase a VHF radio.
