Back Country Rescue

Back Country Rescue

SAR Team

The primary purpose of our backcountry rescue team is rapid response for missing or injured persons in the wilderness around Sanpete County.

Our 40-member team conducts its missions under the direction and authority of the Sanpete County Sheriff and is trained to the Utah Sheriffs Association standard. Our volunteers come from all walks of life.

We are doctors, nurses, EMTs, farmers, law enforcement, military and more. We’re all committed to one purpose: Helping those in need. From missing persons to medical evacuation, downed aircraft to ledged or injured climbers, and drowning victims to avalanche victims, we are ready to go 24/7.

Without your help, the work we do would not be possible.
